Nonprofit Partners

Festival of Friends PNW was born with a love of music and friendship at it's forefront. We have been so proud of the growth of our event, however it wouldn't be the same if we weren't able to find a way to give back to our community.

We have partnered with two amazing Nonprofits who are as passionate about music and community as we are. Please take some time to learn about Ethos and Looking Out Foundation, and consider donating to their amazing causes.

When Ethos began, classes were held in a basement at the University of Portland and staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers. Ethos has since grown into an organization that employs a small administrative staff and more than 30 part-time music instructors. The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities has named Ethos one of the top 50 after-school arts programs in the U.S. eight times since 2003.

We partner with and listen to students, families, and community advocates to collaboratively identify and remove a variety of barriers to music education.

Ethos believes all students deserve access to the well documented benefits of music education regardless of socioeconomic status, geographic location, abilities, religion, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

The Looking Out Foundation amplifies the impact of music by empowering those without a voice. From neighborhood to nation, we fund organizations that often go unnoticed as they support social justice and humanitarian causes across the US and globally.

Founded in 2008 by multiple Grammy winning artists Brandi Carlile, Tim and Phil Hanseroth, we band

together with fans, non-profits and female LGBTQ+ owned businesses to translate voices of song to voices of action. We are nimble to the ever-changing needs of the human race and adapt to support the diverse demographic we serve. Every campaign we launch is backed by our passionate donors and fans, and $2 from every concert ticket sold goes directly toward our efforts.
