Laure Dwyer and Sue Thurston became friends while attending the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Although they lost touch over the years, a chance encounter with a mutual friend eventually brought them back together in Oregon, where they had both relocated. They effortlessly rekindled their friendship and spent much time attending concerts, camping, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. As avid nature lovers and music enthusiasts, it was only natural for them to combine their passions and create the first Festival of Friends PNW in 2023, adding a touch of friendship and community to the mix.

Laure and Sue enlisted the help of friends and family to turn their dreams into reality. Their dedicated crew is entirely volunteer-based, contributing a remarkable amount of time, effort, and sometimes personal sacrifice to make the festival successful each year—all with a smile.

Since the inaugural magical musical campout, the festival has grown in size and reputation.

If you want to hang out outdoors with your friends while enjoying amazing music, you’ve found your home!

Join us for an unforgettable weekend filled with music, nature, and, most importantly, friends—because “Life is Better with Friends and Music.”
